TV Wall Mounting Cost in the UK: What to Expect
What Which? reports two big retailers charge to wall mount a TV, what changes the price, and what to ask before you book.

A quote to mount a TV depends on the wall, the type of TV and whether you want the cables hidden. The only mounting-service prices we found are the two retailer charges Which? reports, so this post uses those. We have not checked them against the retailers' own pages, and they are not Greater Manchester quotes.
What retailers charge
Which?, in a guide dated 10 August 2026, says that when you buy a TV from Currys or John Lewis you can pay them to mount it. It reports that Currys charges £125 for TVs bigger than 32 inches, and that John Lewis charges £125, or £179 if you want your cables hidden.
Which? adds that a quote from one of its Trusted Traders could work out cheaper than what Currys or John Lewis offer, because you pay only for the parts of the service you need. Retailer prices change, so check the current price before you compare.
The bracket is a separate cost
Which? says wall mounts range from about £20 to £160. Full motion mounts cost more than fixed ones, and some pricier mounts leave a smaller gap between the TV and the wall. Which? says that if a mount is VESA-compliant and fits your TV's size and weight, there is little reason to pay more, though you may want a more expensive one if you often adjust the angle. Check the mount's weight rating against your TV, because Which? says matching VESA measurements does not mean the mount can take the weight.
What affects the method and the quote
- The wall. Which? says a Trusted Trader will quote depending on your wall, type of TV and whether you want the cables hidden. Unless you are mounting onto brick, the TV has to be fixed to the studs, because the gaps between them are hollow or packed with insulation and will not hold it. Which? gives the average weight of a 55-inch TV as around 18kg, and notes that most stud finders also find pipes and wiring, so use one before you drill.
- Hiding the cables. Which? describes two options: trunking on the wall, which may be the only choice on masonry or brickwork, or threading the cables through the wall, which takes more DIY. If you are unsure what runs inside the wall, ask a qualified electrician before cutting through it.
- The bracket. Which? says full motion mounts cost more than fixed ones.
- Setup. Ask whether tuning the TV and connecting boxes and consoles are included.
